CITY AS SITE
June - August of 2010
This project was generously funded by a grant from the National Endowment For the Arts and supported by the Chicago Public Art Group and ENLACE Chicago.
City As Site’s goals were to develop a series of temporary public art projects in the Little Village and North Lawndale neighborhoods of Chicago’s West Side and work with young people, ages 14-21 that are residents of these respective neighborhoods. Participants learned to use interdisciplinary arts methods to create transitory, experiential and performative projects that initiated dialogue between the physical geographies and psycho-geographies of these neighboring Lawndale communities.
